Smothered Pork Chops
I made this tonight, and it turned out fantastic. I
found this recipe on Pinterest and I give it a big thumbs up. It is a perfect
weekday meal or a lazy Sunday meal. You mix a few ingredients and the crockpot
does the rest.
Prep Time: 10 minutes.
Cook Time: 5 hours.
Crockpot Temperature: Low.
Serves 4.
What You Need
- 4 Bone-in Pork Chops. (Boneless is fine, personal choice)
- 1 envelope Onion Soup Mix.
- 1 14oz can of low sodium Chicken Broth.
- 1 10.5oz can of Cream of Chicken Soup.
- 1 Envelope dry Pork Gravy Mix.
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder.
- Salt and Pepper to taste.
- To Thicken Gravy
- 3 tablespoons of Corn Starch.
- 3 Tablespoons of Cold Water.
Instructions
In large crockpot mix onion soup mix, chicken broth,
cream of chicken soup, and dry pork gravy mix. Whisk until blended. Do not
worry about chunks, they will smooth out while cooking.
If using bone-in pork chop do not cut off bone, trim
fat. Season pork chop with garlic, salt and pepper.
Add pork chops to crockpot.
Cook on low for 4 ½ hours.
The last half hour of cooking mix corn starch and
water together in separate bowl, mix until smooth. Once smooth poor into
crockpot. Mix gently. Turn crockpot Temperature to high let cook half hour then
serve.
Note: Serve Hot
